Yes, 300 will be a great HD-DVD disc on July 31st to be sure. We discuss this movie a lot, but how about Shooter being released on that day as well? I thought that movie was great, and in reality, was written and directed much better than 300. At least in my opinion.

It has some nice action scenes with good sound (SD version), and it keeps you glued to the TV from beginning to end. Of course I will be picking up 300 on July 31st, but I will also be picking up Shooter. Is anybody with me?

Nope, sorry... Marky Mark, will always be nothing more then Marky Mark for me... I think his best roles are bit parts in movies like Departed or I Heart Huckabees, I don't think he can carry a movie at all.

Also would like to pick up Hot Fuzz but that is ringing in at over $40 Cdn on Canadian online retail sites, can't blind buy at that price, doesn't feel right :)

Paramount will ruin it but not including a lossless audio option. I will probably buy it anyway.

I have Shooter in my online rental queue, so I hope to see it sometime before 2008. I've read a few of books in the series it's based off and enjoyed them quite a bit.

I have seen neither one of these, but have them both on order with Amazon. Really looking forward to both of them. Hope I am not disappointed after all the hype.

Same here. SHooter was a great film. Never seen 300 but will go with my gut feeling and the positive word of mouth and blind buy it.

I will be upgrading from LD to HD DVD for Darkman...:) (yes, I still have my collection of ~75 LDs and a working player...a DVD/LD combo player)

Anyone know what kind of Audio track we'll be receiving for this title? I'm assuming its going to be a DD+ track for the HD DVD and a standard DD track for the Blu ray or am I wrong?

that's gong to put a dent in my wallet too. However, September is going to make me go to the poor house with the Jack Ryan set and face off coming out back to back. Egads!! my wife will shoot me after that. :D

I have seen Shooter, the only Marky Mark movies I haven't seen are Renaissance Man, Traveller and The Yards, otherwise I think I've seen all his flicks.

That's cool man, I respect your opinion on him then. Some people just hate people for other reasons, so that's cool. I'm not saying he is a great actor by any stretch, but I just thought the movie was very well done, and he held up adequately.

I will say this however. I think he is just as good of an actor as that hack who played King Leonidas. ;)

Shooter is coming out the 31st? Sweet. but dammit, why can't they release the HD-DVD at the same time as the SD DVD? I already bought the SD DVD thinking it wasn't coming to high-def. Guess I'll ebay it and get the HD-DVD :) It was a blind-buy and I really liked it.

That's fair :) I'm getting 300 just as much for Queen Gorgo as anything else though :)
