Hi,
I needs some help. I am connecting a Mac Mini to a Sony KDL-46XBR3 1080P. I am using a DVI to HDMi adapter by the Mac Mini and using an HDMI cable to connect the TV to the Mac Mini.

The issue I am having is that when using the mac the picture is not full screen. The top 1/4" and bottom 1/4" of the desktop gets cut off. I have tried the various aspect settings on the Sony and set it to normal. I have also played in the Mac Mini's settings to try and change to different resolutions. I called the mac store and they said it is because my TV is a windscreen. Surly their must be some type of patch or software that fixes this... almost all tv's are wide screen. What about if i sue DVI to VGA. This is urgent Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help.

I have a KDL-52XBR3 and my mini detected it perfectly without any adjustments. Make sure your TV is set to Full Pixel: Normal. Then make sure your mini is set to 1080p. You can check the TV's info status to check what your mini is sending. If it isn't already at 1080p, enable the Display menu item in the Displays System Preference pane. In the menu item you'll see two options for 1920x1080. One is 1080i and the other 1080p. Check your TV info to see which one is 1080p. Also, in the mini's display prefs, enable overscan. This will get you a perfect image on your TV.
