Was supposed to be released in 2006 and we've heard nothing about it other than the Japanese release this year.

I've been really really looking forward to an HD DVD release of this as it's probably my favorite TV mini series of all time.

Does anyone have any updated info on a US release?

I can't help with regard to the US release, but I know where you're coming from. I was looking forward to the hBO version since it appeared on the Look and Sound of Perfect site last year. Anyway, I got so fed up waiting that I've pre-ordered the Japanese version. I have no doubt that any guilt I feel now over the expensive price will be completely swallowed up as that familiar soundtrack starts up. Can't wait!

I also liked this show after watching it on DVD and since there's no news of it's release from HBO that I too have resorted to ordering the Japanese release from Amazon Japan. But the idea of having DTS-HD audio does interest me and so here we are only a few weeks away from it's release.

Awesomeness! Knowing Amazon (as they're all work the same be it US or Japan) they don't ship till close to release day which means we receive our copy after the fact but the wait will be worth it. Mine is stated as to be shipped on the 26th Japan time which is the same time frame as Australia.
