Ok, I have the PS3 hooked up to a HD1000u. I for the life of me can't do calibrations with just my eye (I can't for the life of me remember long enough which one looks better lol). I trust you guys on here more than my eyes for the basic setup/starting points. The new firmware makes my head spin. So I just have a few questions if anyone using hte PS3 and HD1000u would so kindly chime in.

720p vs. 1080p. I have it on 1080p but would I be better off with 720?

RGB Full or Limited? I noticed that when I used Full it made Rainbow Six Vegas really dark. I even had to turn on my brightness all the way using RB:6's calibration pattern and it still didn't look right. I'm leaning towards limited perhaps?

YCRb (I'm at work so I can't remember the actual spelling) and Superwhite? Not sure how to set those.

Sorry if this is explained somewhere else I did a search but couldn't come up with anything. THese are the basic questions i have, once these are settled I can then move forward with Avia.

I asked the same question about a month ago and am also the proud owner of a PS3 and HD1000u. I'll tell you first off that you will get a plethora of viewpoints regarding the scaling capabilities of the PS3 and HD1000u.

After taking everyones excellent advice and applying them I have found the following to work best for me:

1080p output(HDMI of course)
limited
I am also at work and cannot remember the last setting.(It's been a long week)

You must also take into account that I have tweaked the picture settings of the HD1000u by following tips from posts in the projectors forum.

Thru the awesome advice from these forums I have 106" of Motorstorm mayhem.

Thanks Dball, if you have a chance if you could check that last one, but I understand if you don't! Much appreciated.
