The Pioneer Elite 50 inch pro-1150hd is out now. The 1080p PRO-150FD is coming out in September. This is my first foray into high-def.
Any thoughts?
thanks

It really depends on your viewing distance. The further you are from the screen, the better a larger screen will serve you. Both are or will be dynamite sets.

I'm waiting for the 150FD, because I want the 1080p, I want the larger screen, and on top of that I will be sitting close enough to full benefits of both! There is a cost increase for sure. It is a little unfortunate that there is no non-1080p 60" unit this year, but I suspect everything will be 1080p next year or soon after, so they are just starting with the larger models, which makes sense.

So use an actual tape measure and measure from your viewing distance and that will help you determine if you can go bigger. Then it will also tell you if it's worth it for the 1080p. If you sit farther then I think 11' away, then you want the 60" but don't need the 1080p, so you have to determine if the cost matters. If you sit closer then 9' you could go to 50" but it also depends on what type of viewing goals you are trying to accomplish. Is it just a TV or is it a Home Theater.... big screen gives you the home theater feel.

I noticed you skipped the 110FD unit... just wondeirng. That's the 50" 1080p. That's good if you sit about 8' or closer.

I sit 7' to 10' away and I want the home theater feel, that's the reason for the 60' 1080p.

I goofed when I typed pro-150fd. I meant pro-110fd.
I'm only interested in the 2 50 inch sets.
Thanks for your responses.

Since Ive owned a pioneer 433cmx for 5 years its a no brainer to go with a 50 1080p.My 43 is still excellent so and i would not want to buy old technology i already own.Cant go to a 42 since im used to a 43 at 7 ft thus Im in the perfect seating position for a 1080p.I would buy a 1080p even if I sat 12 feet away just to future proof my purchase for at least 5 years. You cant find an ED set today and that says a lot to me.

Anyone know if the pro-150fd will have a DVI-D port or just a VGA?
