View Full Version : So what games DO you have? List your PS3, Blu-Ray inventory
I was wondering if everyone would be interested in listing their current inventory of PS3 games and even Blu-Ray titles if its not too long. Also give a short commentary on how long you played the game and your thoughts on it.
I'll start:
I've owned my PS3 for about 1.5 months.
PS3 Games (2):
Resistance: Fall of Man -bought this with the system, played campaign mode for about a month and beat it. Great game, had a blast. Actually thought it was easier than expected (on medium setting). Multiplayer will keep me coming back.
Ninja Gaiden: Sigma -just bought this last night to hold me over until LAIR and Warhawk come out. So far its ok, but I have some issues with performance and gameplay. I am worried about replay value once I beat it.
Blu-Ray Movies (1):
Casino Royale -just bought this last night, haven't watched it yet. Its my first Blu-Ray.
As far as future games I plan to get
LAIR
Warhawk
Madden 08
NHL 08
Ratchet and Clank
GTA IV
Uncharted Drakes Fortune
KZ2
COD4
That list will grow in time
dogdoctor 07-14-07, 02:03 PM Launch Day PS3:
Games:
Resistance - beat all 4 difficulty levels in single player and enjoy the online immensely.
MotorStorm - beat the game without the boost cheat, love the online battles.
- anyone interested in some regulated online competition, join us here at http://www.motorstormleague.com/
SuperStardustHD - highly addictive downloadable game a must purchase for your PS3
Full Auto 2 - beat single player, ok game, never ventured online.
Madden 07 - played 5 to 6 times, for me mostly good game for when company comes over.
BR movies:
Talladega Nights (free with PS3) silly movie with mediocre PQ.
PoTC: BP - stellar
PoTC: DMC - stellar
modiGTI 07-14-07, 02:25 PM I HAD Resistance, but traded it in, so 0 for me. UT3 is on my must buy list for Nov. though...

Currently I'm playing most of the stuff on the 360.

jhaines 07-14-07, 05:35 PM I've had my PS3 since February, when Virtua Fighter 5 came out.
Games
Blast Factor - Had a good amount of fun with this. The tilt functionality is a bit twitchy, though.
Calling All Cars! - Lots of fun for a couple of days, but then my interest completely tanked. Gets really frustrating on higher levels, where luck seems to matter more than skill.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - Solid game with some flaws. I'd already played through it a couple of times on the PS2, but I was hurting for 1080-friendly games and my girlfriend wanted to try it, so I figured what the hell. Beat it once on the PS3 and might play through it again. It's 20-25 hours per playthrough if you're thorough.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - This is my first 3D Ninja Gaiden game and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Brutal but fair. I just finished Chapter 6, so I can't make an overall assessment yet.
Q*Bert - Bare bones, but the classic Q*Bert gameplay is all that matters here. And it's classic for good reason.
Sonic The Hedgehog - Not great, not horrible. Definitely disappointing when compared to the Sonic Adventure games from last generation. It feels rushed and unpolished, but there's still some fun to be had here. I don't remember how much time I put into this one, but I think it was in the neighborhood of 20 hours to complete everything the first time through.
Super Stardust HD - The best downloadable game so far. A sweet, sweet fusion of Asteroids and Robotron that'll keep you coming back over and over. Probably the best $8 I've ever spent on a game.
Virtua Tennis 3 - Another solid entry in the series with lots to do. The difficulty ramping is a little awkward and the players dive too often, but this is an otherwise great arcadey tennis game with some really crazy training mini-games. I maxed out both a male and a female character and beat the special doubles match with them, but couldn't quite beat the special singles match. I think I logged a total of 30-40 hours with this one.
Virtua Fighter 5 - The gold standard of one-on-one fighting games. If you like depth and tactics, and want to be rewarded for skill instead of button mashing, then this is your game. I got El Blaze up to 10th Dan before I got distracted by other things, but I know I'll keep coming back to this one for a long time. Not sure how many hours I've put in so far, but it's probably 15-20, including vs. matches.

What do you consider giant? Things like that are relative. I have gotten about 1/3 of my BDs as presents since I got my PS3 before Christmas and my birthday, which is shortly after that. Normally, I pick up 1 to 2 movies a month.

I dont know, I mean obviously I could do the math myself. Just curious what people are spending on avg monthly. Currently I do Netflix, but I have considered starting up a collection. I always tell myself I'll spend too much money, just curious what most people are spending and where they usually buy from.
metrognomerical 07-16-07, 04:28 PM For those of you who have giant BD collections, how much would you say you spend per month on avg?
depends on what comes out at this point, cuz I have most of what I want out of what's available so far. Also I try to order online as much as possible cuz store prices are retarded. BB still wants $36 for Ice Age Meltdown. I cant wait for the BR prices to come down in stores but through deep discount and others I've scored movies for $15-20. on avg i'd say maybe $40 a month on avg.
For those of you who have giant BD collections, how much would you say you spend per month on avg?
I wouldn't consider my 20 BD collection giant, but it's getting up there now that I found a good outlet for used BD's I can spent 50-60 a month and get 4-5 titles. Plus 1-2 brand new titles I can't live without.
Sofdec7 07-16-07, 05:14 PM I have about 50 titles on Blu Ray - the amount I spend can really vary from month to month depending on new releases.. some months I've spend $400-500 while others I've spent $20.
I used to shop at Best Buy and spend the $35 (on some titles) MSRP without knowing better - I've since started shopping at Amazon and Frys (and now WalMart) and getting titles for about half of that.
GMEHRA84 07-16-07, 06:02 PM Games:
RFOM- The best game so far
F.E.A.R.- good game play, with not so good graphics

I've had the PS3 for about 10 days (bought it at the $499 pricetag as a birthday present to myself).
So far I only have two games: F1 (my brother and I love racing games) and I just bought Resistance thru Amazon (price just dropped to $40). I've also bought a few PS2 games (God of Way, GT4, Killzone) to see how they play thru the PS3. GoW looks great, KZ and GT4 only so-so; I need to play with the setting a bit more.
As for BluRay movies, I already have around 300 standard def DVD's and I've been hesitant to start repurchasing titles I already own. I did pick up the Pat Metheny Group "The Way Up" concert BluRay to see how the format looked and sounded and was very happy with the PQ and SQ. I may pick up a few comic book movies (Ghost Rider, Superman Returns, 300) but want to limit BluRay purchases to stuff that really takes advantage of the format until prices start to come down.
