I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to replace the outer screen on my Toshiba 62hmx85? We were moving some things out of storage and a bed frame fell into the set and took a 6 inch gash out of the middle of the screen!! I was wondering if someone knew how I can get a replacement screen (I can replace it myself) and how much it would cost? I found a website that listed some screens for sale (they had three different part numbers and I do not know which one I need) regardless, they say that they no longer ship them anyways.

Thanks!

I know screens are available from the manufacturer to replace defective or damaged ones. I do not know the part number or cost, but I believe they are expensive.

If you have Homeowners insurance, and the deductible is not too high, file a claim. This type of damage is covered, even when caused by the Homeowner, as long as it is accidental. Might make the cost of repair managable.

If all you are paying is your deductible, may as well have a service tech order and install the part for you.

Those screens will be quite expensive. The outer protection screen also serves as a diffusion filter and the inner screens are a lenticular fresnel combo. Very expensive. Not sure about that specific model but most of the DLP manufacturers sell those screens as a kit and not individually.
