The panasonic Panasonic TH-37PX50U, the samsung LN-T375H, the magnavox 42MF437B, or the vizio VU42LF fpr and whyEven though that Panasonic is a two-year-old model, i'd choose that over the others because they suck. The 37PX50 has a fantastic picture and is a solid set.

whats wrong with the new samsung? It's an LCD!

The 37" Panasonic Plasmas have better picture quality than any LCD TV and also better than just about any other Plasma TV.

I'd take a new Sam 37" LCD LN-T375H over a the older Panasonic plasma 37". I don't know the other 2 brands much, so I will leave them out. I don't care for the styling of the silver frame Panasonic's myself on the older models, I like the newer black framing style instead.

There's nothing wrong with LCD if you prefer it. We all make our choices what we like or dislike. It's your eyes that tell you which one you like best, go with that one and enjoy it.

I have both types, plasma ( 42" and a 50" ) and a Sharp 37" LCD LC-37D43U in the bedroom that is just fine. I wanted the 37" Samsung 375H, but could not find it here until after I got the Sharp.

This may sound like a really stupid answer, but its the best advice you can get. Go to a nice AV shop that displays TV's next to each other (BB or CC is not what I am talking about, but if they are the only ones around, so be it), get ahold of the remote controls and adjust the picture to your liking on the TV's you are interested in. Then just choose the one that fits your bill.

If you live in a remote area and cannot do such, then research the heck out of your choices and pick the winner based on reviews (user and professional) and measurements/testing results. Me personally, I would go with the Panasonic.

Good luck!
