There are other better looking titles than MI-3 like Casino Royale, POTC DMC, Crank, Fearless, Prestige etc.

I disagree , MI3 is what it is and it has essentially no artifacting. It is contrast, intentionally grainy and has oversaturated colors. A gorgeous transfer.

I agree. I would put quite a few above MI3 actually. Ridick, Training Day, Apacolypto, Batman Begins are a few that come to mind as looking better than MI3 IMO. MI3 certainly looks good, but definately not the best. Not to mention some of the animated titles and the Discovery Atlas series (mostly stunning PQ) which overall look better than anything I have seen.

Here is a link (http://www.mbmg.de/hd-discs/theprestige_bd-vs-hd/01.html) with six still captures and one which is zoomed in comparing the Blu-Ray AVC (20.99 GB) version to the HD DVD VC-1 (16.33 GB) version. They look nearly identical, and yet the VC-1 version uses 4.6 GB less than the AVC counterpart.

Another victory for VC-1

MichaelHDDVD while the blu-ray may have a very very slight edge I still will give hd-dvd the win since it does use a lot less space and it so hard to notice the difference that while it's being played I don't think you could pick what one was what if no one told you!

Bigger is not always better! :)

I particularly liked the placement of a 2 page HD DVD ad right after Blu-ray's "Top 10" list...

I've spent a good 10 minutes or so looking at the comparison pics and to my eye it's about 50-50... and even then the differences are so minimal it's not funny.

Agreed, they're both virtually identical. The HD DVD gets two thumbs up here though simply due to the smaller filesize.
