I have a widescreen toshiba hdtv, model 50h81. it won't come on. the red light on the power button just blinks. i've tried several times to reset by unplugging, but to no avail. i fear that i have an expensive problem, but thought i'd ask whether anyone knows of a simple fix. :eek:

I don't have a Toshiba, but a blinking red light on my TV indicates it needs a new lamp. Check your owner's manual.

I have panasonic Action and got the same problem of red light blinking. It would be better to replace your Lamp by a compatible Branded Lamp.
