I have quite a few systems, old (PS2,XBOX,Dreamcast) and new (360). I plan to purchase PS3 and Wii as well. But i was wondering whats the best way to upscale each of these? I have read that scalers and converters work well. But there are so many and I'm wondering if anyone here can suggest if any, which 1's work the best. Or maybe a post that i haven't found regarding this question. I have component cables already but I'm looking to find out how I go about getting my systems in HD. All help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I'm wondering as well. I don't know the first thing about hooking up game systems to HDTVs, and while I'm not concerned about my XBox 360, I would like to know how feasible it is to hook up an old Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) to a Plasma...

actually what you could probably do is get some emulators. They have them for many formats. so it saves space instead of having all those old systems laying around. You can have them all on one system, whether it be on the PC, or XBOX. Not sure if anyone has been able to get them on a 360 yet but im sure some1 will eventually. PM for more info on that.
Hopefully someone will show us the way. I can only imagine seeing a game like Final Fantasy VII in HD. :)

I actually have the 'nostalgia' thing going on, so I like collecting the actual games/cases and using them on the original system. Call me old fashioned, it may be more trouble than it's worth, but I have seen an NES on a DLP before, so I know it's possible! Good luck with your systems too, hopefully someone who is knowledgeable can respond...

The Pioneer Elite will have excellent video processing and upscaling onboard - as long as you have enough inputs, just hook them directly into the TV!
If you don't have enough inputs, invest in a switcher, or a outboard video processor from DVDO, Lumagen, etc. with enough inputs.

thanks for the prompt reply tdavis, but can u name any particular switcher that works well? the ps2, xbox and dreamcast dont have hdmi ports on the back so im looking for something that can upscale it to HD. :)

I work for a company that manufactures A/V switchers (among other things), so any recommendation I could make would be biased. For that reason, I hesitate to make a recommendation.

I recommend a switch made by the company tdavis21484 works for. :D
Seriously though, I would stay away from the switched made by third party accessory makers like pelican and such. You could always check monoprice, a forum sponsor.
