I purchased a Toshiba 62MX196 DLP television in March of 2007 and I am quite
satisfied with the picture, however there has been one ongoing problem from the
start. I have the TV hooked up to a Direct Tv H20 high definition receiver via
HDMI cable. I do not have the television setup for fast lamp turn on.
Everytime I turn the television off I have to unplug the TV in order to have the
lamp come back on for a picture.
I have called Toshiba and they have told me that you must turn on and off
your television with a certain protocal in order to prevent this from occuring.
The protocal they instructed me with was when turning off, I must first turn of
satellite box then television. When turning on, I must turn on television first, then
satlellite box. Bottom line has been that no matter what protocal I use, I always
have to unplug the television before I can get the lamp to come on.
Has anyone else experianced this? I am too old to bend down and crawl
behind television to unplug it each time. (please don't tell me to exercise more,
I bought the TV to exercise less)
Any suggestions?
