Today I was bored so I took off to my local Worst Buy, on the off chance that they would have anything new for hd media. Well, lo and behold, there was a nugget there! I found this French-Canandian version of the Bourne Supremacy there. The best part is, at the register, it came up as a mis-ship to their store, so I only paid $17.99 for it!

Here's another picture of the disc art, plus an interesting ratings sticker that was on the front.

There's been a French copy of Bourne at my local BBY since last year, not sure if it's still there though, since I haven't gone to BBY in ages. For a while I kept an eye out for other imports but unfortunately no others showed up.

IIRC the French Version was sent to a lot of Best Buys as the Pack-In disc for HP Destop computers with HD DVD drives. I guess a couple of them got lost and ended up in the regualr HD DVD aisles.

Its one from Europe and not here in Canada. Our rating is very small on the discs and are found on the back over a leaf. I think Canadians and Americans share the same discs as i don't remember seeing any disc (so far) up here with French lables except for Blu-ray releases (which is why i love Amazon.com)

Its a Euro disc. You can tell by the rating symbol on the front cover and disc. Same as what they use on Euro SD DVD's.

Definately not a Canadian video rating.

Link to Canadian video ratings http://www.cmpda.ca/jsp/v-rating.jsp

It also looks like Quebec is the only province/teritory that is not member of Canadian Video ratings system.

Hehe why doesn't it surprise me to see Quebec going out of their way to be different then the rest of Canada.

I actually found the same thing at Compusa a few months ago when they were having their "Going out of business" sale. It didn't match any of their SKU's, so they sold it to me for $5.

And Australia too, though I prefer the US cover to this one.

From titles I own and just browsed through I can tell you that Dante's Peak, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, Daylight all have french labels.

Not a big fan and would rather have the U.S. release but with shipping and our wonderful border customs/handling fees (+ tax) it's never cost effective. :(

I wish Canada were more on par with other countries on inexpensive consumer imports. But alas, they like to milk us for every penny possible.

There's a couple of these on eBay right now for $14.55 after shipping if anyone is interested. Actually, on closer inspection there doesn't seem to be any French writing on them so it might be the British release; same cover art, though.
