Hey everybody,

This thread is not to flame or incite a big response. Just a throw-out there of my day yesterday for our format of choice. I have found a way to keep myself happy and also found a WAF too.

I ordered HD DVDs yesterday as follows:

Sahara
Casablanca
Fast and the Furious
The Eagles Farewell
Top Gun (pre-order)
Face/Off (pre-order)

I know. BIG DEAL, WHO CARES. But this is the HD DVD section and I am trying my best to help us to keep getting movies beyond the next few years.

This is by far my biggest one day haul yet. I was able to do this for one reason only. I ordered the 3rd season of LOST (pre-order) for the wife. That seemed to keep her from going crazy with my orders. :D
I will keep buying HD DVD until I no longer can. I now have 23 movies in my collection. This isn't too bad I think. I just got into this the last week of May.

Try to be easy on killing my joy on this one. I just wanted to show I am doing my best to help out.

I know I did and now I just don't care about the format war debates/speculations or Blu-ray "threats". Because to me, there was no so-called competition in the first place.

congrats for your purchase. Sahara and Casablanca are good choices, Eagles as well. My biggest purchase so far was the 1st anniversary celebration buy day where I ordered ~30 in a single shot. My wife has shaken her head due to the masses of Amazon parcels arriving the weeks after the haul. Fortunately she didn't find out how expensive the whole lot was ;) Now some time has passed and the account which I reserve for the hobbies has recovered a bit. Time to order/preorder the following titles:
- Uncommon Bach (great music experience I've been told)
- 300
- Freedom Vol1
- Bourne Identity
- Imax Blue Planet
- The Warriors
- The Untouchables
- Road Warrior
- Purple Rain (Prince)
- Deep Purple Live
- ...and *some* (20? :) ) other

After reading your post I'd say: keep up your support, enjoy HD, but don't let the discs bleed your and your wifes account to death ;)

You're going to love Casablanca and The Eagles. Both fantastic HD DVDs.

I'm set to make a purchase of 5 or 6 this week to catch up on a few titles I didn't grab yet. It's my own personal little "HD DVD buy day". :)

I totally agree! I happen to stumble upon HD DVD last December and have been enjoying it since. I finally hit the 50 mark last week and will continue to buy titles until the day they stop producing them.

Last two titles I bought:
Black Snake Moan (good movie!)
Blood Diamond (plan to watch it this week)

I have decided to just go to Frys and buy the movies day and date. I really hate waiting for the pre-orders to come in.

I'm still plugging through.

I'm waiting for my five free discs (Apollo 13, Casablanca, Four Brothers, The Rundown, U-571). Its only been a month so I know I have quite a while to wait. In the mean time I use Netflix and have purchased Lucky # Slevin, Troy, and Goodfellas. I'm not rich and am upgrading a lot of hardware so I only plan to buy a few discs a month for now but I want to do my part. I will probably order Planet Earth from Amazon in the next couple of days.

It seems like I have been non-stop for the past 2 months. There are so many great titles available now and very soon. HD DVD is alive and well.

Nice to see people are still enthusiastic about HDDVD. I just bought 40yr old virgin, against the wifes wishes. To much outside influence from the inlaws.
