The other day I purchased the new Sony Blue Ray 300 player. The picture looked great when set to native 720p. However when set to 1080p/24fps I was amazed. I did not know that the Optoma could even except 24fps. It actually displays 1080p24 when I hit the Resync button on Hd70 remote. The HD70 is by far the best display unit I've ever owned.

hi, sorry for my ignorance but how or what does this mean?

I just got my PS3 and I'm not sure how to set the resolution to 1080p @ 24 fps (frames per second right now forst person shooter)

or is this not possible with the PS3?

I don't have the hd70 but i believe its a setting on the projector itself, you would need to set your ps3's resolution to 1080p also.

However, if your projector then takes said 1080p/24 signal and applies 2:3 pulldown because it can only do a 60 Hz refresh rate... you might as well leave the PS3 on 1080p/60 output because you ain't gettin' the benefits of 1080p/24.

Your projector would have to display in multiples of 24 Hz like 48 Hz, 72 Hz, or 120 Hz without adding 2:3 pulldown to eliminate that type of motion judder.

Just because a display accepts 1080p/24 doesn't mean it can do anything beneficial with it.
