I have three options for a sub right now. They're all 12 inches and they're similarly priced. I am looking for the best performer out of the three.

Option one - (under or around $180) I originally planned on making my first DIY sub. I planned on using an Elemental EQHS12 and a 300 watt bash amp. I have no experience with making speakers and i have almost no wood working skills. I also don't have an enclosure design.

Option two - ($150 shipping not included) The Parts Express Dayton SUB-120

option three - ($100-120, used and shipped) Polk PSW-450.

I don't know which would sound the best out of the three. I'd assume (don't know much about how the specs affects the performance) maybe the PSW-450 because the retail is 500+. I really don't know and i dont think anyone can give a 100% solid answer without listening to them. I was hoping you guys can maybe give me a suggestion by looking at the specs of each subwoofer?

Thanks!

I've had the Dayton 12" and did everything I could to like it due to the price but after 3 weeks it went back, it was boomy and muddy no matter how I tried calibrating or where I placed it, I'd advise passing on it.

The Polk at that price shipped is a decent choice providing it's in ok shape. I'm assuming it's used at that price. That would probably be the way to go at < $150.

You're not going to get much in the $150 and under price bracket whether it's a diy project or otherwise. If you are interested in a DIY project check out the DIY forum here but again I think it's going to blow your budget.

IMO for the price the polk would be the way to go as long as your expectations aren't set to high.
