The image on my Sony TV is slightly off centre. I can get into service mode with DISP 5 VOL+ Power, and can adjust the image with HPOS VPOS VSIZ HSIZ. When I press MUTING, it says WRITE, but when I press ENTER is does nothing. If I power off and on, the settings are lost. And even if I could put up with setting it every time, there doesn't seem to be a way of hiding the setting prompts. Any suggestions? I saw an earlier response from hammerdwn which mentions WRITE appearing in green, then red. Mine is yellow throughout. I also accidentally pressed DISP instead of MUTING, and it said WRT5060 (Hz perhaps?). New Zealand is 50Hz 240V mains, with PAL B/G TV. The set allegedly scans at 100Hz; certainly there is no visible flicker.

As I said, MUTING then ENTER doesn't save it. I discovered by trial and error (and great risk!) that MUTING followed by 0 saves the data, which I think is verified because when you press 0, the current parameter (eg HPOS) disappears for about a second, then reappears.
The plate on the back says it's a KP-W41 SN11 (or it might be 5N11). It's a 41" widescreen RPTV about 10 years old, made in Japan and (judging by the settings) intended for Aus/NZ.

I can see some other defects in the picture which could no doubt be improved. I can't get a manual for it anywhere. Is there some general advice on what to twiddle first (or maybe to leave alone!?) The keypad seems to have several controls. Apart from 1,4 to select and 3,6 to adjust, it uses 2 and 5 for INITIAL and COPY (0 for save - see above) and I think there were others. Any idea what these mean?
