I have a ASUS motherboard with a Realtek ALC850 builtin sound. I have the correct asound.conf and asound.state files and MythTV when watching tv or recordings works great. When using XINE to watch iso or mpg files that have ac3 audio nothing. I have XINE set to passthrough the audio, but nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried changing the the Audio device (ie. Alsa or OSS from within Xine)? I had to switch to OSS to get it to work.

It was on "Auto" when I first looked at it and changed it to "Alsa" since the audio on the system is handled by Alsa. I will try "OSS" and see if it works.

I now have a low volume fan like noise from the front speakers when playing AC3 sound from DVD ISOs. If I play avi files with MP3 audio I don't get the noise. Any ideas on how to configure xine to fix my problem.
