Can anyone tell me how the horizontal shift of the 1080 compares to the Z4? I have my projector placed on a side wall of the room toward the front of the theater and have achieved excellent results with my Z4. I use no keystone in my setup. I'm thinking of eventually switching to the 1080 but I'd like to know if the lens shift is as good as the Z4's. Also, how would you compare the fan noise between the two?

Thanks.

Geese, nobody has an opinion? Doesn't anyone who has the 1080 mount on a sidewall that can give me some help?

Haven't seen a Z4 but my Epson 1080's horizontal lens shift is way more more than I'd ever use. I can't notice a difference in the picture one way or another, but just to make sure I mounted mine to not use any. Fan noise on low lamp is very quiet, on high lamp much louder. Its so bright though on my 46"x109" screen on low lamp Theater Black2 I'll never use the high lamp setting.

Not sure what that means - high lamp is "much louder" than low lamp's "very quiet"? So, does that make it a little more than "quiet"? Not trying to be a wise guy, but noise levels are very difficult to convey using adjectives.

Too bad it's a pain to create an mp3 sound clip and upload soemwhere. I know the Silent PC site does this for power supplies. Oh well.

I do have a concern with this pj and that is, will I need to operate in high lamp mode since I'm at 7000ft elevation? My Z1 has low and high modes, but also a super high mode. The regular high mode I can live with, but when the super high mode kicks in, it is very loud.

Just wanted to ressurect this thread as I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger. I love my Z4 but I'm looking for a 1080p PJ. When my lamp burns out, I'm going to be looking to buy a new PJ. The Epson 1080, the Panny 2000 or the Sanyo Z2000 are my choices. Right now I use alot of vertical lens shift but little horizontal. My projector is close to the closest distance for my 96" carada screen. My room has lighting control. As I mentioned, my Z4 is great however some added brightness would be welcomed. Maybe someone has experience with the Z4 and one of the others?

Yeah the Z4 is still awesome. Recently I had a barbeque with my workers at my house. Even though my basement is very small, they were all blown away by the setup. I was shocked that 10-12 grown men layed across my basement floor and watched Cloverfield in it's entirety.

I don't want to stear you away from buying a 1080p projector ,but with your size screen...you might not get much of a wow factor. By the way.....i have a 8' screen also.
