I saw this article a while back, before I started looking into TV's and the technology behind them. From what I can tell, this technology looks pretty promising, in that they are eliminating the need to reproduce colors in the traditional sense, by combining the RGB in varying ratios. Instead, they are breaking down white light via diffraction gratings into the desired colors that they want to display. At this time however, there is a huge power requirement to do so, as it sounds like there is an LED per grating, each of which requires a bunch of power. Not to mention would be very expensive to build.

Has anyone heard of this technology, or have more information on it???
