I could swear I've done this before, but I can't find it in the maze of menus...

There's a show I want to record no matter what channel or timeslot it's in. I do a search and I find it across channels and timeslots, and I want to record it. Where do I go/what do I hit to do that? I've only been able to tell it to record all instances of the show on the specific channel in the specific timeslot... I thought you could do this in "Series Options", but it's not there. I also thought you could do this off the Search screen, but I can't find it there either...

How about just doing a search for the title then select the "auto-record" that shows up at the bottom of the list of upcoming showing. Rather than a series record, you're doing a record on the title search.

Hmmm...maybe that's how I did it before, I'll have to give it a shot. Does it do the search at regular intervals or does it only record where it finds it (day of week and timeslot) on that one search?

Side note: buddy of mine who sits behind me at work got his UltimateTV a few months before I did. He's since moved on to the dark side (his UTV died the tuner death) and got a DISH DVR. He read over my shoulder on this and mentioned, "btw - one thing I love about my DISH DVR over my old UTV is the search is instantaneous - what is UP with the UTV's search feature? It's ungodly slow" to which I replied, "hey, don't be mean - the vacuum tubes have to warm up."

I think auto-record was a 3.7 feature, u do have that?

I think you'll be quite satisfied with the way auto-record works. It's one of the UTVs finest features. Set/it/once/forget/it.

If you only want to record one showing, scroll to the one you want and poke on record. Auto is for recording anytime any channel. You can narrow it somewhat, by time, network, and lots else.

I've got 40 auto records between my 2 utvs - some been active for years. (in the off seasons, I disable by setting rating to xxx). This is why I (still) luv :cool: my utvs.
