Just curious, with all the comparisons and such that I have read, if that set-up would do well against a single HSU VTF-2 MK 3 (or similar price/performance sub)? I know 1 to 1 it tends to fall short. Thanks!

View Full Version : Anyone using two H100 subs? eddiwill 07-19-07, 01:57 PM Just curious, with all the comparisons and such that I have read, if that set-up would do well against a single HSU VTF-2 MK 3 (or similar price/performance sub)? I know 1 to 1 it tends to fall short. Thanks! Echomalinois 07-19-07, 05:01 PM Depends on the size of your room. I went from a H100 to the VTF2.3 and it is a night and day difference. The sound quality of the HSU is superior as is the extension. irvin 07-19-07, 06:19 PM I went from a hsu vtf 1 to dual H-100. Best move I ever made. I watch alot of action movies so the vtf-1 kept bottoming out on me during intense movie moments. With the bic's I get clean bass and no distortion. I got 2 of them for $425.00 shipped. Jakeman02 07-20-07, 02:06 AM The VTF-2 MK 3 is a step up from the H-100. Two subs will help with room nulls and even the output within a room plus give a little more headroom when placed and calibrated properly but it's not going to increase the quality over using just one. Both the H100 and VTF-2 MK3 are excellent choices at their price point but to answer your question in a nutshell using 2 H-100s isn't going to get you any closer to the quality of bass the VTF-2 MK3 will provide. eddiwill 07-20-07, 10:08 AM Yeah, that's what I figured. I'm sure that 2 of the H-100s will sound good, but I think I better aim higher if I want to have at least a short-term lull in the upgrade cycle! Oh well. milacqua 07-20-07, 03:30 PM Earlier today I started a thread about dual sub woofers ("Second most ridiculous subwoofer question" is the thread title). Can someone tell me the ins and outs of using two subs? How are they connected (I have one dedicated output on my amp) and if they need to be together or apart. If you read my thread you can find all the info. Thanks in advance! As far as connecting two subs you'll just need a Y cable connected to the receivers subwoofer output to split the signal. |
