While moving I misplaced my IN72 power cord (probably still plugged into a powerstrip somewhere). The manual states I *have* to use the included power cord.
Any reason why I can't use the same, standard computer power cord for the projector that you see everywhere?

Infocus probably buys their cords from one of the same Chinese factories everyone else gets theirs from. I can see no reason to not use any standard cord. They probably mean that you should not use one of the cords that would not be a direct replacement. That of course would not be a wise or safe move. But the same cord from another electronic device? Go ahead.

I figured it couldn't be a "special" cord but I appreciate the confirmation.

Just be sure it is the same gauge (usually engraved on the rubber sheathing of the cord) or thicker (i.e. lower number). Too thin a gauge could be a fire hazard.
I ask in the IN72 thread about the gauge. Thanks.
