View Full Version : Dave Harper PA to IN Calibration Tour
Dave Harper 07-19-07, 08:33 PM I just found out I'll be heading to Indiana this weekend if anyone is needing or requiring any setup and/or ISF calibration services between Central PA and Central IN? (Harrisburg, Pittsburgh PA; Wheeling, WV; Columbus, Dayton, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Etc.)
The more people that sign up, the more $$$ you save.
Please PM me here for additional details or to sign up:)
hosercann 07-25-07, 10:56 AM ...just throwing out my 2 cents:
If anyone does need service or just curious how good your projector can look, take advantage of Dave's expertise and service! I thought my picture looked good already but never could have imagined how awesome my ECP now looks with calibration from a pro. He got my ECP looking incredibly awesome last fall and even did some soldiering magic on one of my boards as well!
...Dave got another ECP and will contact soon to calibrate that one as well. ...or let me know you when your the Bucks area again.

Dave Harper 07-25-07, 11:04 AM Hey Jose, thanks for the plug:)!!! Unfortunately I just got back from IN so this tour's closed...for now. I will always head back if at least three more decide they need service.
I certainly remember you and your ECP/theater in Morrisville. I also remember having to run to Radio Shack at the last minute to find some pots to fix it:rolleyes:
I can be in Bucks County just about anytime since I grew up there and my family still lives there, so I have a place to crash. Just let me know when you're ready.
Het Dave, When, if you come out this way again let me know, maybe we could get together and hang out for a while, drink some cool ones and talk shop!
John
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 02:04 PM Hey John:)!!! Your ears must have been ringing because I was just reading your thread about the new Moome card and was going to PM you....too funny:D!!!
I have an old Moome DVI card here, V1.72 and it doesn't appear to work anymore. Do you know how I can get this fixed/looked at? I want to use it with an old D50 I have here.
I also heard that you have one of the old cards, right? Any chance you want to sell it and/or trade for it?
I may be in the Philly area VERY soon to take care of Jose and another client in Philly, so let me know and maybe we can hook up. Do you like the Phillies???
Sure Dave we can work something out. I don't need it anymore.
I'm going to be out your way more often now, new girlfriend lives out in Lancaster off Lititz Pike!
John
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 02:12 PM Cool, that's only about 20 minutes from me:)
I'll let you know when I go there for Jose.
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 02:14 PM How much worse is the old one compared to the new one (in %)??? I don't care if it's not so great compared to the new one, just if it's better than using an IFB 11 and a Gefen DVI-RGBHV converter. The D50 is only a temp solution for now.
It will be way better than the IFB solution, but, not as good as the new card.
My opion, it's at least, if not more a 50% improvement over the old card.
I'm supposed to take her skydiving with me on Sunday, but, the weather my change that. If we don't go I could drop it off if your around Sunday. Send me a PM.
John
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 02:48 PM I'll probably be out your way on Sunday, but I'll let you know. Maybe we can meet off the highway or something?
mark haflich 07-25-07, 03:54 PM JBJR. My daughter is learning to sky dive. She jumped tandem 2 weeks ago. Last weekend she went but it was too windy. Me? My wife and I went kayaking on the Patuxent River. Nice gentle lots of osprey etc,
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 04:08 PM Cool, sounds good to me!
Great, shoot me your cell # via PM and I'll call if I head that way.
I'd LOVE to skydive.....if I wasn't such a wimp:p I learned everything up until the actual "jumping" part when I used to fly with the Air Force. I'm glad I never had to put that part of my training into practice for real:eek:
Hopefully when I head back overseas I won't have to then either:rolleyes:
Hi Mark:)!!!
Ok,did she jump up a Kutztown? That's where I go.
John
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 04:22 PM I don't want to answer for Mark, but I kinda doubt she went all the way up to Kutztown, PA to jump. I'm sure she went somewhere in the DC area where Mark lives;)
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 04:24 PM Hey, I have an idea...When you go up next, just take the Moome card up there with you and wait until the winds are just right and let it fly so it lands somewhere here in E-Town :p !!!
Just make sure to use lots of bubble wrap;)
mark haflich 07-25-07, 04:59 PM I think she went to Delaware. I'll ask her. She's 30 so I tend to get details after the fact..
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 05:02 PM You have a daughter that's 30:eek:....dang you're old:p
My daughter's 10, so that's 1/3 as old as yours. I'm 40 so that means you're 120:D
mark haflich 07-25-07, 09:01 PM I'ze a 62 years old there Sonny!
mp20748 07-25-07, 09:22 PM I'ze a 62 years old there Sonny!
Wrong math Mark. We know you're always tossing numbers in your head, but when someone ask you your age, you are supposed to not subtract or use any complex math to lower the numbers. You're supposed to reference the date you were born and count from there...
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 09:32 PM Yeah....what he said:D
Dave Harper 07-25-07, 09:35 PM Hey Mike, while I got you here. Do you know how to fix a Moome DVI card that doesn't show an image from either the YPbPr or DVI input, regardless of switch position? The LEDs do light up, however.
mark haflich 07-25-07, 10:51 PM 62 and almost 2 months. I just look more mature.
