To make a long story short, I had bought the Mitsu HD1000U and had it installed at the wrong throw distance (why my installer wouldn't know that, don't ask me). So now I need something that will work with a 114" screen at a throw distance of about 19'.

It seems to me the Sanyo Z5 will do the trick, but I want to be sure before I return or order anything. I know it's throw range is 9' - 20' for a 100" screen. Does that mean it wouldn't be a problem with my 114" screen? Is light an issue at that distance, even if I have the Carada BW with the gain of 1.4?

I just want to cover all my bases.

Try the Projector Calculator at www.projectorcentral.com. That should answer it for you.

Why wouldn't you call the installer and have him move it to the correct agreed upon placment, free of charge. Or move it yourself. If that is the only reason to change, its worth a try.

I was considering that, but it's just too much of a headache at this point.

What it comes down to is this guy asked me where I wanted to install it, and being as I didn't know much I suggested a location and that's where it went. And it ended up being the wrong throw distance, which he should have known.

I decided to go with the Panasonic AX100 and a 114" screen, as it will be brighter at that distance.

Thanks for the replies, though.
