We just took our first trip in our new Itasca Navion motor home.

It came with a 15" flat screen tv. Going from the 70" sony sxrd at home was painful. I'm thinking projector. I could put a drop down screen above the dinette table. Max screen (16 x 9) would be around 45 inches. I could put the projector in a cabinet above the couch on the opposite wall. Lens to screen distance would be about 97".

The problem is that I can't find a projector that will project that small of an image at that distance. I haven't found a screen that small either, but I'll worry about that after I find a projector.

Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks,

Denny

I'm quite sure you want a digital projector because a CRT projector (what this area is about) is 3+ feet long and about 170 pounds. Typically, these are used in dedicated home theaters where image quality is paramount. In your application, you will have to tolerate the inferior picture of a digital. I suggest you post this in one of the digital projector forums a couple doors down.

.....especially if you want HD. None of the smaller CRT PJs will handle HD(except the Sony 1031 which barely handles 1080i- but is still large). You'd be taking up LOTS of space in your motorhome with just the PJ. Not to mention the jarring from bumpy roads, etc, would make it shift under its own weight and constantly mess up your convergence.

Uh.... Thanks. I saw "projectors" but the "CRT" didn't register.
