Good day fellow CRT'ers ...

Any one here have any idea what difference, if any, there would be in the throw distance of an HD-8 lens and an HD-18 lens? Any other info on the characteristic differences you can share would be appreciated.

They're two totally different animals. The HD-18 is a lens for LQ projectors, but only suitable for 8" P16 type tubes, while the HD-8 is a non LQ lens with a much larger rear element.

As for comparing picture sizes, just look at throw charts for non LQ Marquees for the HD-8 and Sony G70 or NEC LQ XG throw charts for the HD-18.
