I was looking at the panasonic 700u for a TV. While most of the TV's uses will often be to watch SD programming, as well as Blu-ray movies, I'm most looking forward to using an HDTV for gaming, so I'm concerned about all this "LCD is better for gaming" thing.
LCD lag more if i'm not mistaken, and their color accuracy is usually not as good as Plasmas. Burn in aside (i'm not TOO concerned as i don't do marathons of video game play for more than 3 hours), shouldn't plasma be the natural choice?
Anyway, I was also looking at the pio 5080, but i found the 700u for a better price, and it's 1080p (my viewing distance is 6-8 ft). I always feel a little bit uneasy purchasing a 720p TV because content is quickly moving to 1080p.
I've heard the video processing for the 700u is very good and I've seen a calibrated one at BB and it looks pretty darn amazing. Before i seal the deal though, I'm just wondering if anyone had LCD suggestions or any strong opinions on the samsung 5084 or the pio5080 instead of the panisonic.
