I’m thinking of replacing the subwoofer in my bedroom with something more practical and better sounding. My room is very small, 9x12. Right now I’m using an old advent av550s 15” sub with polk RT15’s all around (I know, I’m crazy for having something that big in a room sooo small), I want to replace this beast with maybe an HSU STF-1 or STF-2. I was also looking at the Paradigm PDR-8 and PDR-10. I’m not sure if i should go for an 8” or a 10” sub on either, I would like to go for the 8” but I don’t want to lose those low frequency notes, plus i like to play my system pretty loud and i don't want a small sub crapping out on me. I know both companies make solid subs but i'm not sure what to go for. So my questions are, should I go Paradigm or HSU? And what what be the better size for a 9x12 room, 8” or 10”?

I would recommend the HSU STF-2, it should hold you for a really long time. Get at least a 10 inch sub. Internet direct subs tend to be better values.

I have the HSU STF-2, and for my bedroom a 12x12 area, it sounds great, plenty of bass, You'll be surprised how low the frequencies are with this subwoofer. ;)

Thanks for the help guys. I was leaning towards the STF-2, just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be too big. You can find negative reviews on even the best sub, but I can't find a single negative comment on these HSU subs, I can't wait till it arrives :)

Edit: Well I cancelled my HSU order, I've been seeing posts for eD subs all over here on AVS, looks like I’ll be starting a new thread :D
