Need a little help. I am building a room that is 20x23 and am going to put in a 142" screen. The room will be painted with a black ceiling and dark burgandy walls. I was thinking about the Pearl for the PJ, but I'm not really projector savy especially when it comes to throw distance. I've read great reviews of the Pearl, but someone told me that for that size screen that I would have to place the PJ about 24-25' from the screen and I only have about 23'. Can someone help me out? How far from the screen does the projector need to be with the screen size above? Thank you.

Thanks, but I have already been there. I guess I want to know is if that is the recommended distance and you can adjust the lens and place the projector at say 22 feet and still fill the screen or does it have to be a minimum of say 24'? Again, I'm new to the projector world. Thanks.

You should be aware that the Pearl isn't a particularly bright projector and a large 142" screen will produce around 4FL which is dim and will get worse as the lamp ages.
Also why does the projector have to be located at the end of the room? The projector calculator gives you the option of mounting it on the ceiling between 14' to 25.''

So, can someone recommend a projector for this size screen that is in the same ballpark in terms of pricing?

go with the ceiling mount and you can get it to work easily, or go smaller screen, 134 or something in that ballpark
