Hi,
Had my RS1 3 months now love it !!
Just last night I threw it into "Hi Lamp: mode", wow, increased brightness and I hear no audible fan noise difference :) So, my question is, will my lamp burn out sooner in Hi mode ? I think i saw it posted somewhere that it wont ?? Will this hi mode effect the panels earlier ??
I think I will be sticking to Hi lamp mode.
I am using a 100" dalite 1.0, RS1 is close to max throw.
thanks ! :)

According to JVC, the lamp life is unchanged by operation in high lamp mode, but it is quite peculiar that you report no change in fan noise.

Max throw with a 1.0! No wonder you need high lamp!
Mine is at about 16 feet with a 1.3 and there is no way I would use high lamp. Too bright in my cave. <g>

Be careful. There may be a fault with your projector. As far as I understand, the fan speed is not thermostatically controlled. It has preset speeds for low lamp, high lamp, and high altitude.
If your fan is not speeding up in high lamp mode, then there may be a fault and your projector "may" overheat. Keep a close eye on it.

I have to agree. My RS1 was unacceptably loud in the high lamp mode... you should certainly hear a difference!

Maybe because it's at max throw and it's far enough away/behind him that the dif is not audible?
That's sort of the situation with me. I can definitely hear a dif (i.e. I know the fan is working properly), but with the projector 11 feet behind me, it's no big deal.
