I'm in the process of pre-wiring for what will eventually be a 7.2 system. I am looking for clarification on exactly what I need to run to each sub. Is it one interconnect cable to each? I haven't bought any of the system components yet but will purchase based upon requirements for a 32 x 20 area. Am I safe just pulling one interconnect cable to each sub?
Since you don't know where the subs will be placed or what kind of connections you will have, I would run a pair of RG-6 cables to a point that is 2/3 of the way from the front to the back on the side walls. This will allow for rear corner placement or side placement without having a long, exposed cable run from the wall jack to the sub. If you find front placement is better, then you can connect directly to the amp. I would run two cables in case you want to run dual subs in a master/slave configuration. I don't know what is the correct type of cable, but I would also run pairs of cable for balanced connections as well. Wire is cheap if you do it right the first time, before the drywall goes up.

Thanks for the responses. I did all my wire pulls today and will do the interconnects tomorrow. I've selected two locations (front corner and rear corner) for the subs. My plan is to start with (buy) the front one and see if that will suffice-- if not, I'll add the second one.
I would not be able to do this without help from people like you.
Thanks!
