Hello again:D

In my last thread I was trying to decide between the HSU STF-1/2 and the Paradigm PDR- 8/10. Two other folks recommended the STF-2, which I leaned toward. The STF-2 has some stellar reviews, looks nice, and plays loud. For $350 +S&H it seems like a solid value.

Searching the sub forums I keep seeing eD (Elemental designs) Subs being mentioned. Aside from the fugly look of the eD subs, those subs play low and loud, plus the build quality is rock solid. I took a look at the A3-250, for the same $350 that the STF-2 costs, eD’s A3-250 will give me better lows and more power, and the driver seems to be built much better than the HSU. I’m torn here, I saw the videos on eD’s website, those drives are made to be driven. Since eD is really a car audio manufacture, can anyone give me an idea on how the HT subs sound, I’m looking for tight base, not boomy, I want to feel what I’m listening to but I don’t want the base to over shadow the other speakers. Basically if a bomb goes of on screen, I want nypd anti terror task force to know about it…….or at least my neighbors :D

The looks of the eD don’t bother me, I’m listening to it, not looking at it, any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would get the A2-300. More output, better extension. And thats according to their employees. The A3-250 was built for those who have less space and need a smaller sub. Goto page 55ish on Craigsubs Subwoofer thread and you'll find a review of the A2-300. it hangs right up there with the svs pb10 for ~$120 less. Not quite as musical as maybe the svs or an hsu but its definitely not boomy or sloppy. Also if you've got to deal with WAF or dont like the finish you can get eD to build you a sub without the truck liner paint and finish it yourself. It'll come as bare MDF for i believe $50 less.

The A2-300 really caught my eye, space is a factor....but the sub I’m replacing is almost the exact size of the A2-300 so I’m rdy to say f'it and go for a 12". Plus the 10" is a little awkwardly sized. WAF is not an issue......though GAF may be, but there aint no ring on my finger :p looks should be cool.

Thanks
