I have the older dvi to hdmi box
I hooked it up last night and ran my optical from my tv to my reciever and now my ondemand doesnt work?

It shows the pictures but blacks out the entire demand info?
It also has this weird bleed threw (A small line) on the top of 2 or 3 HD channels?

I suspect no one can help without knowing more about your setup, etc. especially knowing the make and model of box. If you are on Comcast and have a Moto box, you can often find a sticker on the very bottom stating such.

Have you tried unplugging the cable box AND TV from the wall (power) for a few minutes?

Yes,here was the weird thing
I unhooked the optical cable and the on demand worked,but I had no sound?
Plugged the optical cable back in boom no on demand other than the pic in corners?

This sucky part is I cant go to the DVR box because I will still need the optical cable becuase my reciever had no hdmi :(

I wonder if i can hook the optical cable from the cable box to the the reciever instead and see if that works?I believe that is what the majority of folks do. Optical from STB to receiver. In 'most' cases the optical out port on the TV is only for OTA signals - signals processed by the TV's tuner.
