I've had a Buffalo Linktheater for a couple of years and use it to steam audio and HD picture files with varying degrees of sucess. MP3 audio is fine but the picture display is very problematic.

What's the best device out there to display HD slideshows on my TV using component video? I've thought about an HTPC but getting it to work with my 5 year old MITS rear projection over component sounds like a lot of work. I have network access at the TV so a streaming or stand alone box are both options I would consider.
