If this has been posted please direct me to the correct link, but came across an uncomfortalbe scenario last night when my son had a couple of his friends over. My wife and I were out in the garden and when I came inside the group had migrated from my sons room to the family room where I keep the PS3, they were watching some home videos of my wife giving birth. I've poured all over the literature and the only things that can be restricted are video games and movies, (not home movies). Other than taking away the remotes and threatening a beat down, is there anyway to secure certain content on the XMB.

Not that I know of. Probably just a beat down is the best way !

Maybe by putting inappropriate material in an appropriate place?

yeah probably should not put private files in a gaming machine.

LMAO ... sorry but that is some funny ish ... you can't beat him or anything. I mean he stumbled on to the file most likely. Kids in search of something to watch ... can't ground'em for that. As for the content ... not really much you can do until theres some kind of folder system implemented for your stuff and if you're using TVersity then you're F'ed =\ ... get your son a Wii =X

Get a small external usb hard drive for videos like that. Then connect it when you want to watch them.

Why would your son want to watch a video of his mother giving birth (with his friends, no less?) I don't know - if that were my kid, I'd be less worried about securing content on my game console and more concerned about my son wanting to see his mother's private areas. Call me crazy...

I'm not sure if this is a file on the hard drive or a DVD-R. If it was a file why would you even want that on your hard drive? Is it something you so frequently want to view that it needs to be readily available at all times?

lol.
I have some pretty hardcore adult content on my Xbox 360 that I forgot about that a guest later stumbled upon.
What can I say?
"Oops, You should probably ignore that." :D
Thumbdrives are cheap people... use them lol.

...or lock them down on your PC and share them via a media server application (with options to change the folder sharing).

Bought a Sony Handy cam with the built in hard drive and is was nice to just download them on to the hard drive of the PS3, my wife bought a my book hard drive 750GB a few weeks ago for the specific purspose of placeing the videos on it and making movies for the grandparents, pure lazyness on my part in not erasing the videos off of the harddrive is why they are still there. It wasn't like the scene on Knocked up, just pictures of the baby after she is placed on the hotbed, and my wife making noises passing the placenta. I just hate that the content at this time that is on my XMB login is avialable to everyone else with a login, including my son.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
Waaaaaay too much information, my good man.
