Im looking to buy an HDTV and if i can save money and not get an HDTV tuner then i would like to. Im not planning on using the HD to watch television, I simply want it for my xbox 360 to look pretty. Ive read up about how the tuner is required to receive HD television signals but is it necessary for an HD ready television to have a tuner to display high definition coming from a 360? Even if the tv has a 720p native display?

No the only thing you need a tuner for is over the air broadcasts. Cable and satellite work fine using a cable or satellite box, and movie players and game consoles work fine as well.
