The forum search doesnt find hits for "hdmi 1.3" .. WHY?
I was wondering if there is a master list of all FP Tvs that support HDMI 1.3 somewhere on the forum? Verizon just got approved to offer Fios TV in my town, so I'm now in the market for a new TV.
I don't want to buy old technology, hence the interest in HDMI 1.3. I'm willing to wait a few months. Any suggestions? Where can I find a list of HDMI 1.3 sets?

The forum search doesnt find hits for "hdmi 1.3" .. WHY?Good question, and to be honest you will often find that the search engine at AVS Forum works best when given very simple search terms and will mess up, or not work at all, when given anything more than that. I like the forum but have found the search engine to be of pretty poor quality and you have to keep that in mind when trying to use it.

Also something to be careful of is that some displays will have HDMI 1.3 inputs but will not support any of the new features of it (http://www.hdmi.com/learningcenter/faq.aspx#hdmi_1.3). As such if you are interested in Deep Color support on a new display you would have to make sure that the display specifically supports that feature.
Any suggestions?Maybe the Toshiba LX177 models since they support Deep Color but there is some confusion over whether or not they use 8-bit LCD panels, which would not be capable displaying Deep Color video. Definitely the Sony W/XBR4 models since they support Deep Color and have 10-bit LCD panels that could take advantage of Deep Color video.

Yeah, it's a bit frustrating, but I'm a newbie here so I can't complain! I just always try to exhaust my search options before opening a new thread. I hate to be that newbie who posts the question that's been asked a million times!

I'd start one, but I wouldn't have anything to offer!
On a more general note, I'm very suprised about the lack of information regarding HDMI 1.3 devices. It's almost like the industry got together and figured hey, we can either advertise these great new features that our NEW/FUTURE products are going to have and risk sales of our older generation models, OR just keep our mouths shut and not say anything.
Thanks for the tips, Richard!
