Hello all,

It may be kind of a lame thread, but please do not flame me (unless you absolutely have to) . It may be too soon to post this, but I shall do it anyway:

Has anyone yet received their 5 free BD movies yet?. I sent mine off on 7/01 and I know that it could officially take 6-10 weeks, but I was just wondering. I guess that when it gets approved, we should be receiving an email confirmation, but who knows?.

I also sent off for my 5 free HD-DVDs in early June (through the HD-DVD rebate offer) and I have yet to hear anything on that front. Nonetheless, those 5 free HD-DVDs are going to be useless to me, as I ended up selling my Toshiba A2 on eBay. Hopefully what I end up getting for them by selling them on eBay will make up for the small loss which I took.

Edit: subsequent to purchasing my Samsung BD-P1200, I also bought a PS3 on Amazon. I know that it is cheating, but I am also going to send that (proof of purchase) off for 5 more BD movies (in my brother's name and address) although the field of choice was getting way too thin for the second round picks. I don't care if I am cheating, Sony is not suffering too badly ;)

I'd be surprised if the first senders get anything back before September. You never know though...

I sent mine 2 weeks ago. With HD DVD rebate it took a little over 5 months for me to get those movies, so I expect the same time frame....
By the way, I mailed my HD DVD rebate to Round Rock, TX - same as Blu-ray one - I wonder if the same company handles both promotions....

I don't have an HD DVD player so I didn't take part in that rebate, but the Blu-ray rebate should be mailed to El Paso. Hell, if it was in R.R. I'd drive right up there and knock on the door!

Round Rock?

Where did you get your rebate form? It should have been sent to El Paso, as noted above.

Who said Roundrock???? Of course it's El Paso! :D
But I was just trying to say - both HD DVD and Blu-Ray rebate forms have been mailed to El Paso, TX - and it's almost the same zip code too. For HD DVD - El Paso, TX 88543, and for Blu-Ray - El Paso, TX 88541. So it very well might be the same company that handles both promotions

I hate the long wait when you take advantage of offers like this. I bought the Panasonic 10a because the five free discs were included in the box; if it was a mail-in offer I most likely wouldn't have pulled the trigger. Instant gratification is a great marketing tool!

Hopefully, they will not take a blow torch to the outside of the cases like the HD DVD promo.
However, a telephone number like the HD DVD offer would be nice to check on the status.
