Haven't seen mention of this anywhere.
This morning when I logged onto Amazon it said the price of a bunch of the BD movies in my cart had dropped by $2-3. I haven't figured out what the master list of reduced price titles is yet. Some of them were Reign Of Fire, Enemy of the State, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Brothers Grimm, G.I. Jane, King Arthur. Some of these titles are down to $16.49!

Thanks for making me spend more cash....sheesh. Yeah, this is Disney, Buena Vista. I just spent over $100. Damn you. ;)

Dark Water [Blu-ray]
$19.49

Casanova [Blu-ray]
$19.49

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy [Blu-ray]
$18.99

The Wild [Blu-ray]
$19.49

The Great Raid (Director's Cut) [Blu-ray]
$19.49

Dinosaur [Blu-ray]
$19.49

Gone in 60 Seconds [Blu-ray]
$19.49

Annapolis [Blu-ray]
$19.49

Glory Road [Blu-ray]
$19.49

Yeah, I know, a couple of these titles leave me scratching my head also....but I haven't seen them. Free shipping, no tax and I got my 10% discount of $17.49. So each disc averaged roughly $17.47...sweet. Thankfully I already own a number of Buena Vista titles. Thanks OP

I haven't heard anything about the transfer for Reign of Fire? I'd think, with a good transfer, that it would be great in HD but don't really want to buy if it was one of the early victims of crap transfers. Anyone actually seen it in BD?

How do you get 10% off?

It was offered as a promo awhile back. If you purchased three titles (I think that was the number) it entitled you to 10% off all future high def purchases for the year. Mine should be drawing to an end soon. It was a great deal. I noticed that the ship dates are starting to move into August so there are AVS members furiously buying....too funny.

How do you get 10% off?You don’t. It was a promotion that was effective for a period of time last year. I, and many others did qualify :), the bad news is: it is good for ONE year only :(.

Will the prices for 300 and the new IMAXs (Amazon pre-orders) go up after July 31st?

I thought it was extended for everyone who qualified through the end of 2007?

Check also the Buy.com (http://www.buy.com/specialty_store_6b/bvhe-blu-ray/64667.html) BD sale that was from 2 weeks ago, some of the low-end titles are still cheaper.

I grabbed Chicken Little to go with my order of a remastered 5th Element.

I'm also really tempted to go after The Wild and Reign of Fire.

Does anybody know if pre-order prices for BDs on Amazon go up after the release date? I am debating whether to pull the trigger on 300 and Blue Planet before July 31st...

If the price changes sometime after your order ships (officially 30 days after that point, but they're quite flexible on this) send them an email - they'll refund you the difference.

Actually, my question was in the opposite direction. Are pre-order prices really special prices at Amazon? Will they go UP after the BD is released?

I am sure someone who pre-ordered here will know the answer.

Depends on the title. They generally don't raise prices based on pre-orders, but they do change pricing based on other factors. My point was that if you're going to order from them, might as well do it early since you don't loose anything if the price goes down.

Well, though it is a terrific deal, the glut of announcements motivated me to cancel my order with Amazon. There is just way too many more worthwhile titles on their way. These can definitely wait.

More reductions such as G.I. Jane and King Arthur for $14.95.
See post #14 above for link.

I hear that. While I like to constantly have a couple movies coming to me at a time, I realize that this holiday season is going to be a bloodbath on my wallet when I consider all the BDs and heck, video games I'm going to buy.

Might as well hold out.
