Looks like they received it over at hdd.
This is a must have for me especially since the sound received a 5 star rating. I wouldn't expect anything less with a movie about beethoven
It received a 4 star for pq but since its a bluray and it is hdd its probably a 4.5 pq.

It's either AVC or 50gb. Sounds fishy for 25gb, Mpeg2. But what a stunning disc.
^You're probably right.
Can't wait for this....easy buy.

Just watched about half of the disk last evening.
In a few words, it is wonderful - The soundtrack is immersive and deeply musically engaging, the visuals stunningly saturated and detailed.
It is really refreshing to see HD content where the beauty of real materials, landscapes, and room ambience is used to tell the story.
Can't wait to see the rest, with the great Ode to Joy scenes.

I am really looking forward to watching this in HD - Gary Oldman is the man! Amazing acting skills....

Picked it up last night at Fry's in the 2 for $27.00 deal. Beautiful movie. Well worth the $13.95 spent on it. If you do not have a Fry's close by you should be able to get the same price online.

I watched it on my little sytsem this week. I thought it looked good. It even sounded great without True HD. I'm gonna watch it again on my big system soon. I just love this movie!

Another thumbs up for IB. The sound was gorgeous.
The last time I watched it was on LD with pre AC-3 surround sound on a 36" Sony CRT. It was a huge step uo on BD on a 50" plasma.
Just watched this, one of my favorite movies (LvB freak here).
Terrific BD....completely blows the DVD away.
Excellent video and the TrueHD was fantastic.
Napoleon's cannon bombardment of Vienna had my SW shaking the house!
If anyone doubts that Gary Oldman isn't the best actor in world, watch the featurettes after the movie.
Just watched this movie tonight. I was much younger when i originally saw it and I like it much better now. I have always loved the soundtrack though.
From the opening scenes, I knew the audio was gonna be special. The opera competely fills the room. I couldn't tell where the front blended into the surrounds. I was listening via optical from PS3 with THX Ultra 2 post processing. I have used this config for over a year now, so I've heard many soundtracks, and this is a standout. It's about time I found a demo disc that doesn't involve bullets, planes, or giant robots. The Napoleon scenes floored me also. The cannon shots gets truly scary the closer you get to reference, thanks to a SVS PC-Ultra and a Servo-15. I imagine it would only be better in PCM.
This movie deserves more attention. Oldman was incredible. The nuances in his performance is a perfect example of what separates good acting from great acting.
+1. I would always crank the 'Ode to Joy' scene only to have to reach for the remote when the chorus kicked in because it came across pretty harsh. The TrueHD track helps that a ton. Definitely a huge improvement.
