Just downloaded a demo of SageTV for use on my G4 tower. I have a Hauppauge myTV.PVR.
SageTV is very nice, night and day from the software included with the tuner box. Everything is very configurable and well thought out. No youtube etc. success so far, but I'd rather see support for abc.com, nbc.com etc. Not holding my breath.
I'm wondering about the video compression settings. There are quite a few available in the software, but I think many are not the native settings of the tuner box. Since my G4 is a bit less spry than the latest machines, I don't want it re-compressing what is streaming out of the tuner.
What would be the best compression option for this setup? Anything too chunky seems to stall the picture and/or audio. BTW, drive space is no object :rolleyes:
