Hi all,
I just recently got the Vizio 42" lcd from costco and there's 2 issues that I'm wondering if it's just my set or normal:
1) when I turn on the TV there's a whirly sound (like a bad fan belt in a car) that lasts about 2 seconds before the picture shows up. This only happens when I turn on the TV and doesn't seem to affect anything else.
2) there's hissing (static, white noise) from the speakers. It's not loud but it's there and I can hear it well if I turn the volume to 0. Then going into the menu to toggle the speakers on/off, it stops when the speakers are disabled. During normal TV viewing it's not a huge deal but I can slightly notice it's still there.
Anyway, anyone else have these problems? This is the 2nd TV I've had from Costco with sound problems (1st being a Sceptre). I guess they're cheap for a reason. :(
Also, I searched for the Vizio 42 and didn't find a dedicated thread that addressed these issues so please don't yell at me if there's some major thread on this already. :)
