View Full Version : Dragonforce FTW!!-Guitar Hero 3 info
Looks more and more like GHIII will be getting my money over rock band based on the playlist alone.
In the ScoreHero interview, the reviewers mentioned that Iron Maiden's "The Number of the Beast" is in the final set and DragonForce's "Through the Fire and Flames" is a bonus track and not in the main setlist. "Through the Fire and Flames" was also described as "an insane flurry of hammer-ons that caused almost everyone to fail only 1-3% into the song."

As long as its a master track...I dont want any remake of Dragonforce...
If its an original I will practice enough to ensure I figure out how to play it.
watsonte 07-26-07, 12:46 PM It's a master track.
I really hope its the full 7 minutes...
It would be insane...7 minutes...I would probably break the guitar after 1 min of that song but it going to be awesome.
Pikasauce 07-26-07, 12:46 PM Does anyone have a link to the GHIII playlist?

If it's the master track, it's the full song. Since it's not in the main playlist I'm sure having a 7 minute song isn't an issue.
Anubis2005X 07-26-07, 12:52 PM I love this song...it's gonna be insane!
Goatspeed 07-27-07, 12:14 AM There is no way anyone can play the guitar solo from Through the Fire and Flame without taking finger speed enhancing drugs and selling their soul to someone or other. That is an INSANE song to put on Guitar Hero.
Jules343 07-27-07, 12:22 AM lol have fun with that track.. while I don't care for dragonforce they can play guitar crazy fast.
I've seen video of the song hacked in to GH2, looks crazy.

what's wrong with dream theater?
That is an INSANE song to put on Guitar Hero.
and that is exactly why they did it. Just for this song GHIII will get my money.
Cysquatch 07-27-07, 11:49 AM what's wrong with dream theater?
Dream Theater IMO, is proof positive that you can be outstanding musicians individually but together can completely suck. Mike Portnoy is the most narcissistic ass on the planet. I'm surprised his drum kit isn't surrounded by mirrors.
Again this is my opinion. I know there are alot of passionate DT geeks around. Watch any DT concert and look at the fans in front of the stage. Its pretty depressing. If I want "good" prog, I listen to Rush.

The guitarist, bassist, and keyboardist of DT are amazing musicians though. I really get a bad vibe (narcisist, like you say) from the drummer and singer.
Dream Theatre would have some really fun stuff to play (like Dance of Eternity). However, I can only take so much of them, as they really play too much offbeat time-signatures. I mostly prefer their work in Liquid Tention Experiment.
Rush is the original prog in my mind though, and they are great live to boot. Lighter music though, and somewhat less technical.
Cysquatch 07-27-07, 01:03 PM Sorry for being off-topic but can't resist. ;)
Go to itunes store and type in "The Heaviest Matter" in the search field. Listen to the preview. Tell me that wouldn't completely destroy on GHIII or even better ROCK BAND! Would need the "double bass pedal" addon though! ;)
If your head doesn't bob during this preview, you have no pulse!
My GHIII/Rockband wishlist:
Mastodon - Circle of Cysquatch, Bladecatcher
Gojira - Heaviest Matter of the Universe, From the Sky
Any Every Time I Die song
EDIT: Screw it, i'm going to create a GH/Rockband wishlist thread!

I guess I don't have a pulse ;) Its pretty cool, but I more of an older metal/rock type (I.e Master of Puppets/Orion etc). Al;though the name, The heaviest Matter in the Universe is a sweet title.
Though I don't care for the metalcore vocals...
Unearth - Unstopable
...would be a fun chugging song, with some awkwardly technical drum beats :D

Yea, Gojira is a bit cookie-monster vocal-wise but the music is just crushing. I'm a fan of all music from Metallica to Muse, from Deftones to Yeah, yeah, yeahs. See my Top 10 thread...... ;)

Now I want to listen, since I'm a big death metal fan. It seems like you can't go to the itunes store without downloading itunes though. I'll have to find it somewhere else.

youtube. but I wan't impressed.
jkoch6599 07-28-07, 09:51 AM I hate going to myspace, but I found The Heaviest Matter and a few other songs on their site. They're OK I guess. Not as good as my favorite French death metal band, Kronos.
Cysquatch 08-03-07, 07:06 PM Too bad they couldn't make it more difficult. ;)

jhaines 08-03-07, 07:17 PM That's so hard it's completely absurd. Wow.

Jason Kirkpatri 08-03-07, 07:48 PM Absolutely nuts.
Here's the real thing, if any are interested (their earlier albums are better IMO).
Dragon Force Craziness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3M2X4ZAH_w)
Latham99 08-04-07, 12:49 AM Still think they should have used Operation Ground and Pound. Probably impossible considering the guitar solos.
