Ah, nice Wish I could know more about the movie before just diving in on a blind buy. Still, $15 isn't bad for a blind buy on HD DVD, but after March of the Penguins and Full Metal Jacket, I am quite hesitant on any further blind buys. ;)

I saw the SD version of the movie and it wasn't bad at all. Morgan Freeman is always on spot in any role he undertakes, and John Cusak does a pretty good part too. All the while I was watching the movie I kept thinking how great this movie would look in HD (takes place in Washington state). For $15 it's probably worth the price of admission, but you could always buy it and if it isn't your cup of tea there's always someone who might be interested in buying it from you (wink, wink).

In the Fry's ad here in San Diego it is on sale for $12.99. I never even heard of this movie, but love the actors. Is it worth a blind buy?

PQ is excellent. This really is an excellent over the top first effort by First Look Studio.

Fry's management of sales is horrible. I'd drive to the Renton store and pick this up if I knew that they had the low price. I don't want to make a 40 minute trip for nothing though.

Yeah it's weird, I didn't think they would do that. Unless they made a typo here in San Diego? Either way it's clear as day that is the HD DVD version for $12.99.

Ok, I went and looked at the ad again - it shows the Contract SD for $12.99 in the first row, and then in the third row it shows the Contract HD DVD for $14.99. Are you sure you're looking at the HD DVD in your ad?

I am 110% positive that it's the HD version, I just checked again. I am at work, but I can even scan the ad. In my ad the SD version is listed at $16.99 and the HD version is $12.99. Maybe they mixed them up? Either way, that is what it shows in the ad. Even the photo is the HD version and the text below it.

Nice - HD version is cheaper than SD. That is how they are gonna make people buy hd dvd players :D

I'm in Seattle area and got newspaper ad this morning.
I took to the nearest BB and got it @ $12.99.
Although, a supervisor approved price match, was very surprised the price Fry's offering.
I bet, this is a misprint,,,,,,,,

Here is a scan of the San Diego Fry's ad showing the $12.99 HD DVD price point. The SD version ($16.99) is in the upper left hand corner and the HD DVD version ($12.99) is in the lower left hand corner:

Oh no problem man, no worries. I might hit up the store to see if that is the real price on the shelf. Can anybody recommend this movie as a blind buy? I was reading Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB, and the reviews for this movie aren't very healthy.
