Before I start shelling out $60 for more PS3 games, I'd like to go through some PS2 titles that I haven't played yet, for my PS3. For a long time SOCOM was the only series that saw play time on my PS2, and therefore I missed out on some titles that people seem to really enjoy - mainly the God of War and Metal Gear series.

I haven't played either GOW, and the last MG I played was MGS2: Sons of Liberty. So my questions are: 1) Should I play GOW1 first or go ahead and get GOW2, and 2) Is there a particular MG that stands out above the rest, post MGS2:SOL?

You're probably better to start with GoW1, as there is a bit of a story to it. GoW2 is better though.

GOW is GREAT, MGS4 should be great. Get both, starting with GOW1, then GOW2, then MGS4

If you want MGS3 make sure you get the re-make "Subsistance". It includes some cool extras like the original Metal Gear game.
