Everytime I go over to my buddies and he's got XBM up i get more and more dissapointed w/ the PSN store. I remember sometime ago he was playing the GRAW2 and then the R6:Vegas demos and saying to myself cool maybe in a few days I can get them on the PS store. Nope nothing showed up, games realeased w/ no demos. Now I saw that they got Nascar 08 and APF 2k8 and thought maybe just maybe we can get those to, but thursday came w/ no cigar. My point is majority multiplatform games demos are primarily on XBM, what is stoping either Sony or the developers from getting demos on the PS store? We get a demo maybe just maybe once a month while the get multiple demos a week !!

Yup, we need more demos. I would say it's usually 1 demo every 2 months.

It's stupid that Sony can't make demos for their own games like Nucleus on the same day they release.

Someone recently mentioned that demos usually work out in the negative for the game designer in most cases. (Wish I could rembember who - but it's been said since by others as well) I tend to agree in the most part and I think HS is another example of that. Take a look at that thread and tell me that they didn't lose a few sales on the game for those on the fence. I know that The Darkness demo flat out convinced me that it was not for me - and I might have bought it if things got slow and was needing a fill game. Won't even rent it now.

With that said, we need more demos. :)

That could certainly make sense. But I know I haven't purchased or rented several games because there was no demo- blazing angels and Marvel UA for starters. But the demo definitely made Full Auto a rent for me and even that seemed like a waste.

Where they at?

IMO you should spend more time in school and less worrying about demos.

I don't even bother going online anymore to check what demo's SONY has... just a waste of time

*laughs* There was a demo day 1 for Nucleous. It's called the starter pack, and its free.

Cry more, you babies. I'm seeing plenty of demos. Trying purchasing a game to hold you over till the next game.

What I find funny is the HS demo was released and half the people came out saying how buggy it was. I'm sure developers will be jumping at the chance to make demos for PSN.....

Ouch, you're right. It was Super Stardust I was thinking of.

I also thought the darkness demo was pretty fun, thought it got frustrating trying to navigate, there were times I would walk around for minutes not being able to find out where to go. I would consider renting it.

The ninja gaiden demo on the other hand I really really enjoyed. I play it whenever I get bored, and it's definitely a game I want to pick up eventually.

I'm somewhat pleased with the stream of demos as of late, I just wish they'd pick it up a bit and keep it consistent.

Yeah, Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo looks amazing. Will probably get the game.

If the game is good, the demo will do wonders for it. If the game sucks, well....

PSN needs demos. Simply as that. I though we were getting Lair!?

PSN doesn't get many demos because the publisher has to pay sony for a a spot on the PSN as well as for their bandwidth costs. Part of PSN's "open" platform

I thought the darkness was not for me as well after playing the demo. Although I never thought that title would be for me. There were quite a number demos this week and the stranglehold demo is forthcoming as well.

I played it today at my local game store. The controls were not that bad although I can see the why there are complaints, if you push the controller forward before pulling up you do a speed dash instead of a 180. Even with the stupid tether on the sixaxis I was able to get the dragon to do what I wanted. The objective system was pretty simple, at least for the mission I played, with a big arrow pointing to where I should head and a cut scene or communication usually spelled out what I should do.

After a few minutes of playing a pretty large crowd had gathered to watch and all looked impressed by the game.

Graphics look great in some areas and meh in others, LOD problems, with textures taking time to stream. Saw this in Gears as well. I want to say this game is a 6-7 in my eyes, but keep in mind I don't care for flight titles all that much. It was pretty fun lighting the ground troops on fire and mauling them. I didn't get in to the deep dragon combat so I can't comment on that. A 4.5 or 4.9 is a seriously flawed title IMO and while I didn't play through the entire game like the reviewers my impressions were not sub 5.

The Darkness had it's fun moments and overall was a fun game. The loading screens are AWFUL and you spend a lot of time loading. To further smack you in your face, you have to listen to the main character during the loading screens (who can not garner any empathy from me) whining about his Uncle Paulie and basically saying things that make him seem dark or badass or sterotypically Italian. No re-mapping of the triggers, so if you have a problem with twitchy sensitive triggers it will annoy you. Overall, the game was worth playing through once and I had fun after getting used to the controls. Creeping Darkness has horrible controls, but the rest of the powers are pretty decent. The voice acting of the subway people is annoying and slightly racist, and gets repetitive quickly.
The Demo came out for this game ages after the actual game, which is a shame. I think I'd take more demos of actual games, and less crappy HD movie trailers of tear-jerker dramas starring the actor of the week.... But what the hell do I know? I'm just a customer of Sony's so my opinion holds no water - they'll do what they want.

I thought there was going to be a Ratchet and Clank demo pretty soon? The game is coming in October right? Well, we are already in September, so I'm guessing the demo is coming in the next two weeks.

I'd imagine it's likely coming to XBL now that it's close to release over there.
