hope somebody can help me.I have a TV tuner card in my Computer and I want to hook basic Cable up to my computer.I have a Scientific American Explorer 2200 and I want to split it out to my computer.
I know my Cable company has a filter that prevents me from getting the lower channels.I'm already purchasing Digital and I own the Cable Box.I'm not asking to hack into the Box. And I'm not asking to do anything Illegal. At my last Apt I asked the cable man to remove the filter.Which he did as he was doing some other work.
I don't want to pay another CALL OUT FEE is the reason I'm asking. Thanks in advance

Just place a 2-way splitter at the RF output of the SA 2200 and run a line to your computer.

Or, if you want your computer to be independent from your 2200, place a 2-way splitter at the input of the box and run it to your computer. If you have a cable modem, locate the splitter at the cable modem, with i lag going to the cable modem (cable needs to be at least 6' in length) and the other leg going to your tuner card.

Thanks for the reply. But,that doesn't work.If I hook it to the out I just get the same channnel as what is on the box.The other way doesn't give me but two channels.I want the card to be independent of what's on the box

OK. In your original post, you wrote that you had an SA and you want it spit out to your computer. Hence, the misunderstanding.

Usually, apartments have just cable going to the unit, where it is split out to the various outlets. If you can find that, perhaps you can remove the filter yourself.
