i have a reciver that records tv shows into .ts files. These files however are not HD .ts files. I'm trying to find a way to convert them to divx since each file is about 2GB. does anyone have any suggestions. I hope this post is in the correct place.

I think you are posting this in the wrong place, I think this is the blu-ray forum now. Please conform! :) You probably need to look the the Doom9 forum for this type of info. There is a wealth of information about how to convert from one codec to another.

with non HD ts files, convert the ts files to mpeg with videoredo for example. And than use on of the numerous transcoding proggies to convert the mpeg2 file to divx. Videohelp would definitely be a good source for further info.
