I currently have a 32 inch LCD Samsung LN-3251D. I am looking to upgrade slightly bigger and 1080p. I am thinking maybe a 42"-46". I mainly game on it with my Xbox 360 and PS3. I do watch a little HD cable on it. If price didn't matter what are a few of the best TV's I can get for gaming. Thanks for the help in advance.

Try the Display forums. Lots of good advice there.

Well you didn't post if you were interested in a RPTV or a FPTV and just posing a blanket statement isn't really gonna help us help you.

Personally, I own a 50" plasma and use it for TV, gaming, and movies all without problem and I am COMPLETELY satisfied with the quality and features of the TV.

To be honest, MOST HDTVs out there these days are going to satisfy the regular consumer, but likely not the videophile. Since you must not be a videophile (otherwise you'd know more about what you want and like) I'd say that your first approach should be to determine the type of TV build you want...i.e. rear projection TV or flat panel TV. From there, the choices should be fairly easy.

If you aren't sure which way to go I look at the two types in this way, you can get a bigger screen for less $$$ with a RPTV but it will never be as bright or have as wide a field of view as a flat panel TV, plus with a RPTV you have to deal with the life of the bulb because they do die.

With a flat panel TV the choices at the moment seem to be fairly simple...plasma or LCD. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but at the moment I'd hazzard a claim that they are essentially going to be the same for any non-videophile. That is to say, you will be VERY happy with the purchase of most any flat panel HDTV.

This may not have been helpful, as I was trying to give my general impressions, but your post was fairly wide open so I think this response is in line with the openess of your post.

For the record, my plasma is a Panasonic (2006 model) and I haven't had any issues at all with it.
